PIs: UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium on Law, Science & Health Policy

Other Collaborators: Blake Atkerson, Aishwarya Kancharla, and Megan DeLain

Funders: UC Hastings Graduate Research Fellows Program

Project Objective: While researching forced and coerced obstetrical interventions, we recognized the need for a compilation of interdisciplinary resources that specifically address obstetrical intervention. This website will serve as a resource, citing and linking to legal cases, clinical and behavioral studies, professional guidelines and other scholarship relating to the subject.

Project Description: In the course of conducting research on forced and coerced obstetrical interventions, fellows from the UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium have compiled legal and medical literature into an online database, making these resources available to anyone seeking information about case law, professional guidelines and scholarship in this area.

The database contains sections which provide information in the following areas:
• Law
• Research
• Scholarship
• Professional Guidelines; and
• Other Resources (i.e., Books)

By clicking on the title of a resource, the user can see citation and publication information, a summary of the case, opinion, abstract or article.  When available, a link to the full text of the resource will be provided. The research database is accessible through the Consortium’s website, at http://www.ucsf-hastingsconsortium.org/library2/42.
